Best of SRL 2013 Competition Winners Announced

The Student Reporting Labs program launched its inaugural Best of SRL 2013 competition to honor the strongest entries for its three main video categories: Constitution, Dropout/Education and Science.

The winners in the Constitution category (Two-way tie):

The students of Fort Mill High School for their entry: “In South Carolina, Students Seek Balance Between Gun Traditions and Safety”

The students of Sentinel High School for their entry: “Challenging Their Superintendent’s Raise is a Student Matter, Say Montana Teens”

The winner in the Education/Dropout category:

The students of Austin High School for their entry: “Debate Over School Choice Divides Texans”

Prior to the cast member’s tragic death, students of Richwood High School in West Virginia reported on how the reality show reinforces negative stereotypes.

Students of Lakewood High School in Florida tape an interview with Catherine Cameron, the First Amendment lawyer from Stetson University. This will be used in our story about the dress code changes at Lakewood High School.
